Cagayan State University–Gonzaga officially marked the reopening of the Second Semester for Academic Year 2025–2026 with an assembly meeting held on January 20 at the MABRIC Conference Hall. The activity was presided over by Campus Executive Officer Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr. and was attended by all regular faculty members and administrative personnel, including contract of service and job order employees.
The meeting opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Bert Bermudez, President of the Faculty Association, who expressed his appreciation to the campus leadership for a productive 2025. He commended the administration for its accomplishments in the previous year and thanked the faculty and staff for their dedication. Mr. Bermudez encouraged everyone to sustain their commitment and work with renewed vigor in 2026.
Key agenda items discussed included upcoming campus activities, particularly the Campus Student Council’s fund-raising February Music Concert. Updates from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) and the Human Resource Office were also presented, highlighting reminders on processing timelines and the implementation of the no-noon-break policy. Employees were reminded of their obligation to submit their Personal Data Sheet (PDS) and Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) for the year 2026. Frontline offices were likewise encouraged to ensure that clients complete the Customer Satisfaction Form to help enhance service delivery.
The Planning Office provided updates on target distribution and accomplishments, including employee performance ratings by supervisors, the completion of Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) forms for Deans and Heads of Offices, and Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) forms for other employees.
Meanwhile, the Campus TVET Office reported on the current status of training and assessment centers in the campus and presented proposed ways forward. The Research Office also shared updates on completed research outputs and announced the schedule for upcoming in-house research reviews.
Other matters discussed during the assembly included preparations for the upcoming University Meet and the implementation of security measures across the campus.
In his message, Dr. Pacris, who continues to serve as Campus Executive Officer of the Gonzaga campus, shared his vision of further improving all existing campus services. He encouraged faculty and staff to remain united under his leadership in advancing the university’s mission and in delivering quality service to all stakeholders.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Sheryl Comillas, President of the Administrative Personnel Association (APA), thanked everyone for their active participation in the meeting. She expressed the full support of the employees for the current administration and assured that they will work together to achieve the campus’s targets and deliverables.
