2 CSUG faculty now certified MikroTik Academy Trainer

Two faculty members of the Cagayan State University Gonzaga are now certified MikroTik Academy trainer after passing series of examinations in the six-day training on MikroTIK Certification Program on September 23-28, 2019 at University of La Sallete, Santiago City.

Dr. Verdict L. Gonzales and Dr. Dorothy M. Ayuyang, faculty members of the College of Information and Computing Sciences of CSU-Gonzaga were certified as MikroTik Academy Trainer after passing the examinations in three Certification Programs.

Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Ayuyang are now recognized as MikroTIK Certified Network Associate (MTCNA), MikroTIK Certified Routing Engineer (MTCRE), and MikroTIK Certified User Management Engineer (MTCUME).

With the certification of Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Ayuyang as MikroTik Academy Trainer, CSU Gonzaga can now be recognized as one of the Mikrotik Academies in the Philippines once a Memorandum of Agreement is signed between CSU and MikroTik.

Once recognized as MikroTik Academy, the CSU Gonzaga College of Information and Computing Sciences can integrate the MTCNA Course in the curriculum of the BSIT Program. The Campus will also receive 20 units RB941 MikroTIK Routers and other Networking Laboratory equipment which will be used for instruction in computer network-related courses.

As recognized Mikrotik Academy Trainers, Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Ayuyang can now train BSIT students for MTCNA for them to be certified as internationally recognized network associates. The said academy trainers can now also serve as Mikrotik consultant for computer network management systems.

The MikroTIK Certification Program was organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators, Region 02 (PSITE Region 2) in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education – Region 02 (CHED Region 2) and in partnership with the University of La Sallete, Santiago City.

Mikrotīkls SIA, known internationally as Mikrotik, is a computer networking equipment manufacturing company based in Latvia.

Participants to the training were Information Technology and Engineering faculty members from the different public and private higher education institutions in Region 2 and private IT practitioners.
