On to International partnership,
CSUG, LMU collaborate on 1st Webinar on Victimology
Cagayan State University-Gonzaga through the Partnership and Resource Mobilization Office and the College of Criminal Justice Education, collaborated with Lincoln Memorial University in the conduct of the 1st International Webinar on Victimology held online on September 22, 2023.
The webinar was attended by the deans, faculty members and heads of offices.
In the opening program Dr. Charisma Vivit, the Campus PRM coordinator, commended CCJE’s milestone and initiative in support to the campus’s quest towards internationalization of its programs.
“This partnership with Lincoln Memorial University promises the beginning of our journey towards creating a strong international presence and global impact. I would like to commend the CCJE for adding this milestone to CSU Gonzaga,” Dr. Vivit, shared.
Meanwhile, CEO Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., appreciated the relevance and significance of the webinar to the well-being and safety of employees. The CEO reiterated that a workplace is more than a physical space but a community where people invest significant portion of their lives. According to him, it is everyone’s collective responsibility to ensure that this space is not marred by harassment, discrimination or any form of victimization. but with respect, inclusivity and support.
Realizing the goals of the webinar, experts on the topic given were invited to discuss. The first one was Dr. Kevin W. Jennings, Director in Criminal Justice at LMU Texas, USA who talked about the concept of Victimology. Dr. Jomel B. Pinera, one of the professors of CCJE likewise discussed Work Harassment while Prof. Ohlie Malazzab, the dean of the college, discussed the current trends on Victimology in the Philippines.
To seal the partnership of CSU and LMU, a signing of MOA is set to happen this year.
