On January 6, 2025, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Campus Executive Officer of CSU-Gonzaga, officially marked the resumption of classes by convening a Management Committee (MANCOM) meeting. Led by the Campus Planning Office, the meeting brought together designated officials and heads of offices to discuss key agenda items. The session was held at the administration conference hall.
Key Agenda Discussed:
1. Results of the campus performance evaluation by the university.
2. Schedule of campus performance evaluation.
3. Submission of attachments and evidence.
4. Ways forward and other matters.
Dr. Pacris opened the first meeting of the year with a warm New Year greeting and expressed appreciation for the team’s dedication in achieving the campus and university goals for the previous year.
In his remarks, the CEO emphasized the integration of university and campus programs into the Office and Individual Performance Commitment Reviews (OPCR and IPCR). He reiterated the importance of aligning with the university’s paradigm shift from traditional management to performance-based management, leveraging the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) cycle.
Reflecting on the campus’s overall performance in 2024, Dr. Pacris shared his impressions, insights, and suggestions based on guidelines and criteria tied to SUC leveling, Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), and university targets. Commending the campus team for their efforts, he expressed confidence that their collaborative efforts would achieve outstanding performance in the coming year.
Highlights of the Meeting:
• MANCOM Schedule Update: It was decided that MANCOM meetings would be held on the first Monday of every month starting in 2025.
• Performance Evaluation Presentation: Campus Planning Officer Mr. Jun Clifford Mape presented the results of the campus performance evaluation in various Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs). The results were reviewed and updated collaboratively by the attendees.
• Validation Process Orientation: Mr. Mape oriented the team on the system for validating and reviewing evidence in each key area. He emphasized that aligning accomplishments with evidence is vital for thorough evaluation, as outlined in the Performance Evaluation Guide and the University SPMS.
Mr. Mape expressed his optimism about the campus’s performance, attributing its success in 2024 to the results-driven efforts of the staff and strategic campus interventions. He emphasized the need for meticulous evaluation of declared performances to meet the requirements of SUC and university targets.
With these initiatives, the Campus Planning Office and its leadership remain focused on driving excellence and continuous improvement in the campus's performance and operations for 2025.
