Dr. Jayrome Butay, a faculty member of the College of Agriculture of CSU-Gonzaga was given recognition by the Department of Science and Technology as a scholar and graduate of the degree, Doctor of Philosophy in Horticulture under the DOST SEI’s Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program.
The recognition ceremony dubbed as ‘In Touch with Excellence’ was held on November 29, 2023 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Pasay City Metro Manila. This was attended by other awardees and recipients of various scholarship grants of the DOST.
In an interview, Dr. Butay shared how remarkable and impactful this achievement is, not only in the fulfillment of his dream, but more so, to his professional growth and to his commitment in advancing scientific knowledge in research. He likewise expressed his gratitude to the President of CSU, Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado and the CEO of the Gonzaga campus, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., for their support and guidance.
At present, Dr. Butay is the Research Coordinator and MABRIC researcher of the CSU-Gonzaga campus.
