Cagayan State University–Gonzaga (CSUG) successfully convened the Global Forum on Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy 2025 online on December 12, bringing together local and international experts to discuss emerging trends and innovations shaping the digital economy. The forum carried the theme “Innovating for Tomorrow: Bridging Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy in a Digital World.”
The activity was initiated by the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA) of CSU-Gonzaga under the leadership of Dr. Jay Omotoy, Dean of the College and Campus Internationalization, Partnership, and Resource Mobilization Coordinator. The online forum highlighted the campus’s strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement through digital platforms.
Participants were formally welcomed by Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., Campus Chief Executive Officer, who underscored the importance of international collaboration and digital learning spaces in producing graduates who are globally competitive and future-ready. Dr. Arthur G. Ibanez, Officer-in-Charge President of Cagayan State University, also delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing the university’s mission to foster innovation, ethical leadership, and relevance in a rapidly evolving global environment.
Dr. Ana Marie Cauilan, Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership, and Resource Mobilization, likewise shared a message highlighting the strategic value of international forums in advancing CSU’s global vision. She stressed that digital collaboration enables broader participation, strengthens international partnerships, and promotes sustained academic exchange, collaborative research, and cross-cultural learning despite geographical boundaries.
The online global forum was conducted in collaboration with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences–Shinas, Oman; Warmadewa University, Indonesia; and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Kelantan, Malaysia, further strengthening CSU-Gonzaga’s internationalization efforts through meaningful academic partnerships across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The program featured a series of plenary sessions delivered by distinguished international and local speakers. Dr. Joefrelin C. Ines of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences–Shinas, Oman, opened the forum by discussing the integration of artificial intelligence, academic diplomacy, and ethical accounting in a global classroom. Dr. Ni Nyoman Sri Rahayu Damayanti of Warmadewa University, Indonesia, followed with insights on modern auditing practices through remote work and digital collaboration.
Local expertise was also showcased as Prof. Bert O. Bermudez discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on education and the future of work. Dr. MD Khairul Amin Bin Ismail of UiTM Cawangan Kelantan, Malaysia, presented fintech solutions to improve access to credit and enhance financial literacy among micro-entrepreneurs. The forum concluded with Prof. Girlie D. Balisi, who shared strategic approaches to digital transformation in business, entrepreneurship, and accountancy.
After the discussions, the participants actively engaged with the resource speakers through an open forum, allowing for deeper exchange of ideas, clarification of key issues, and meaningful interaction among participants from different countries and academic backgrounds.
