Cagayan State University–Gonzaga researches earned multiple distinctions during the 45th University RDE In-House Review of Completed Research and Extension Programs/Projects held on October 13, 2025, at the CSU Hotel Function Room, Andrews Campus.
With the theme “Advancing Knowledge, Technology, and Service Through Research and Extension Breakthroughs for Sustainable, Inclusive, and Resilient Communities,” the annual review recognized outstanding research and extension outputs across the Cagayan State University system that contribute to innovation and community advancement.
Representing CSU-Gonzaga, Dr. Vincent Jim Palor received top honors in the Technological Research category, securing 1st place for his study “Design, Fabrication, and Evaluation of the Performance of Laminar Airflow Incubator” and 3rd place for “Design, Fabrication, and Evaluation of the Performance of Climate-Controlled Small-Scale Brooder in Comparison to Other Brooders Available for Backyard Production.”
In the Experimental/Applied Research category, Ms. Pamela Joy Blancas and Ms. Sharina Fidel captured 1st place for their innovative study “Conversion of Biomaterials from Vannamei (Litopenaeus vannamei) Shrimp Waste into Value-Added Products Using Innovative Technology – Utilization of Shrimp Waste for Food Flavoring.”
The study was completed with the expertise of its project leader, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr, and members, Dr. Nilda Munoz and Mr. Marvin Baloloy.

“Bambooyanihan Para sa Magandang Kabuhayan: Multi-Livelihood Development for Economic and Environmental Sustainability” (Development/Extension);
Dr. Clyden Carl Alibania, “Challenges and Coping Mechanisms in Learning Programming: Students’ Perspectives” (Social Research); and
Khayle G. Agluba, “Formulation of Candy Enriched with Bamboo Shoots and Milk” (Experimental/Applied Research).
The event served as a platform to honor exemplary research and extension initiatives that support CSU’s continuing commitment to generating knowledge, technology, and services that advance sustainable and resilient communities.
