Caroan Elementary School produced these short film and story book about mangrove in recognition of the extension services that Cagayan State University Gonzaga has been extending to the community.

According to Mrs. Emy Ines, one of the teachers in Caroan Elementary School, this is their way of thanking CSU for all the support that it has given not only to the school but also to the whole Caroan community.

Brgy. Caroan is one of the beneficiaries of the CESTEEPH program of CSU-Gonzaga. Through the program, actions have been done for the mangrove restoration effort in the barangay.

In August 12, 2019, President Urdujah A. Tejada led the ceremonial planting of Nipa in the barangay under the program Establishment, Restoration, Maintenance and Protection of Nipa Stands for Bioethanol Production and Climate Change Mitigation. On the same day, CSU officials and faculty also distributed school supplies to the pupils of Caroan Elementary School through a partnership with National Bookstore's Project Aral.

Caroan Elementary School is also a recipient of Starbooks from CSU and DOST. The Starbook is packed with educational resources that would raise the school children's awareness on the importance of mangrove in mitigating climate change
