Employees from Cagayan State University-Gonzaga (CSU-Gonzaga) took part in the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) event, spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC), on September 21. The cleanup took place in the coastal barangay of Minanga, Gonzaga, Cagayan.
The initiative, according to the CSC, plays a crucial role in preserving the coastal ecosystem, ensuring sustainability for current and future generations. By removing pollutants from coastal and riverbank areas, the ICC aims to protect marine environments while fostering a sense of environmental responsibility and community engagement.
CSU-Gonzaga employees joined hands with local volunteers and government agencies, highlighting the university's commitment to environmental stewardship and community service. This collective action emphasizes the importance of maintaining clean and healthy coastlines for ecological balance and local livelihood.
