Today, September 4, the doors of the University opened for new and returning students. In CSU-Gonzaga, a simple yet warm ‘salubong’ was held during the Flag Raising ceremony to more than 2,000 students of the campus for the Academic Year 2023-2024.
The overwhelmed CEO of the campus, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr. greeted all teachers and personnel with glee, and then left some fatherly remarks for the learners.
In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to them for choosing CSU and added that they did the right choice.
“Thank you for choosing Cagayan State University as your sit to your academic learning. You made the right choice in choosing CSU particularly the Gonzaga campus. In terms of Academic Excellence, CSU is the number 1 university in Cagayan at lumalaban yan sa Region 02 at sa Pilipinas in terms of Board examinations, employability, and qualifications of teachers.”
He continued by reiterating the importance of education in transforming one’s life.
“Intelligence plus character is the goal of true education as what Martin Luther King once said. As you begin this new chapter in your academic journey, make a wise investment of your time in the campus and develop a well-rounded person in you. Bear in mind that true education can build a good life.”
Further, the CEO left a challenge to learners and teachers.
“My dear students, I would like to see scientists, engineers, teachers, and successful businessmen among you. To our teachers, let us continue practicing our vows for excellence and dedication. It is our responsibility to mold these young people, so tulong-tulong tayo para maging successful ang ating mga estudyante.
Later in the program, the CEO introduced the campus officials and everyone made their first Zumba dance with the officers of the Campus Student Council making the lead.
That moment marked the beginning of a challenging, yet exciting year ahead for all CSUans in Gonzaga. The Campus Orientation and other surprise activities are set to happen in the campus in the next days. These are something to look forward to.
