The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cagayan Provincial Office organized the conduct of Technical Demonstration, inspection and test-run on machineries and equipment of the Shared Service Facility (SSF) project in CSU-Gonzaga on October 25, 2023.
With the assistance of the technical experts from the Department of Science and Technology headed by Eng. Jayferson Mabborang, the test-run was successfully held on the 2 units electric 3-door fruits and vegetable dryers, meat slicer, vacuum sealer and other equipment used in processing various products in the DTI-SSF.
According to the Campus SSF coordinator, Dr. Avelina Ayuyang, this assistance of DTI and DOST is useful for future product development projects and researches of faculty members.
At present, the campus is producing meat products such as longanisa, marinated pork belly, pork chop and tocino. With the calibration of the fruit drying facilities, the campus is set to use them to dry fruits like Pineapple, Mango, Dragon Fruit, Banana, Taro and Cassava to easily process them into chips and Kropek.
These facilities shall also be used for Bamboo shoot flour recovery as ingredient in making bamboo dumpling and other bamboo shoot products.
With the aid of Dr. Ayuyang as the DTI SSF project coordinator, these plans will be realized.
