Cagayan State University-Gonzaga, through the College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy (CBEA), conducted the 2nd Global Conference on Accountancy, Business, and Entrepreneurship on August 19, 2026, via Zoom, in partnership with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, and other international partner universities of CSU.
The conference was spearheaded by Dr. Jay Omotoy, Dean of CBEA-Gonzaga, through the International Partnerships and Resource Mobilization (IPRM) University of CSU. It brought together students and faculty members from participating institutions in the fields of business, entrepreneurship, and related disciplines.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., Campus Executive Officer of CSU-Gonzaga, highlighted the campus’ continuing efforts to expand its international academic engagements. He noted that the conference provides an avenue for participants from different countries and time zones to exchange knowledge and perspectives on current developments in business and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Ana Marie Cauilan, Vice President for Internationalization, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, commended Dr. Omotoy's leadership in developing the conference from CSU-Gonzaga’s academic partnership and cultural exchange activities with a Malaysian university. She emphasized that the virtual conference provides students and faculty access to international experts without the need to travel and supports the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) agenda on inclusive internationalization.
Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, said the conference serves as a platform for intellectual engagement, cross-disciplinary exchange, and professional development among students and faculty from the participating institutions.
Meanwhile, Dr. Arthur G. Ibanez, ASEAN Engr., Officer-in-Charge University President of CSU, underscored the role of international partnerships in providing CSU students and faculty opportunities to exchange ideas and perspectives with institutions abroad. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining CSU’s identity and contributing its own experiences, culture, creativity, and community perspectives to international academic engagements.
The conference featured international and local speakers, including Prof. Marian Binti Setapa and Prof. Gde Deny Larasdiputra of Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia; Dr. Joefrelin C. Ines of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Oman; Dr. Girish Kumar Painoli of Sanjivani University, India; and Prof. Jamaica Mae R. Figueras of Cagayan State University, Philippines.
The activity provided participants with opportunities to discuss current issues and developments in accountancy, business, and entrepreneurship while strengthening academic collaboration among CSU and its international partner institutions.
