Cagayan State University-Gonzaga held the closing program of the Level III AACCUP Accreditation 3rd Survey Visit on September 26 at the Administration Conference Hall, marking the culmination of the three-day online assessment of three academic programs: Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BSAIS), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM).

The survey visit, conducted from September 24 to 26 via online platform, assessed the programs’ compliance with AACCUP standards. In his general impressions, Dr. Jaime Forbes, AACCUP Coordinator, highlighted the high level of cooperation, promptness, and passion demonstrated by the faculty and staff in ensuring a productive and insightful review process.

“Accreditation is not merely a process of evaluating the quality of program offerings of colleges and universities. It is also a valuable opportunity to recognize the individual contributions of faculty members who consistently go above and beyond the established standard,” Dr. Forbes noted. He also emphasized the collaborative spirit, respectful communication, and commitment of the campus to maintaining academic excellence despite challenges brought by the new normal.

Dr. Forbes further shared observable strengths and salient points of the three programs, along with recommendations for improvement, providing CSU-Gonzaga with a roadmap for further development and quality assurance in instruction, research, and extension.

Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, University OIC President, expressed the administration’s full commitment to support the continuous growth and advancement of the institution’s academic offerings. Meanwhile, in his closing remarks, Dr. Froilan Pacris, Jr., extended gratitude to the AACCUP accreditors for their expertise, patience, and honest review.
“Let us carry the lessons from this experience as we continue to grow stronger, more responsive, and more relevant as an institution,” Dr. Pacris said.

Present during the ceremony were the deans of the three programs: Dr. Clyden Charl Alibania, College of Information and Computing Sciences; Dr. Jay Omotoy, College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy; and Dr. Shiena Gano, College of Hospitality Management.
