GAD Office Conducts Gender Sensitivity Training for Newly Hired Employees

The Campus Gender and Development (GAD) Office, headed by Ms. Rizzalou D. Garma, conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training for newly hired employees on July 16 at the CSU Administration Conference Hall.

In her welcome remarks, Ms. Garma, the Campus GAD coordinator, emphasized the importance of integrating gender sensitivity into the workplace to foster an environment grounded in equality, inclusivity, and mutual respect.

The Campus Executive Officer, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., was ably represented by Ms. Mary May Baclig, the Campus Secretary.
The seminar proper featured a series of discussions from certified GAD trainers and campus officials. Ms. Jean S. Torres, Campus GAD Trainer, discussed the Basic Concept of Gender and Development, providing participants with a foundational understanding of gender-related principles and their application in the workplace.

Meanwhile, Dr. Wendy Joy M. Garma, a Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) GAD Trainer, presented the Legal Framework on Gender Equality and Gender-Fair Language, emphasizing national laws and policies that promote gender equality and the proper use of inclusive language in government service.

Completing the training, Ms. Joyce Aminel Espedido, Campus Human Resource Officer, discussed Professional Ethics and Respect in the Workplace, highlighting ethical conduct, professionalism, and the importance of cultivating a respectful and productive work environment.
The activity concluded with an interactive discussion in which participants shared their insights and raised questions, making the training more engaging and meaningful.
