CSU-Gonzaga hosted the launching of the institutionally funded Research, Development and Extension (RDE) Programs on February 1 at the Bamboo Espinosa conference hall, MABRIC building.
The launching was attended by university key officials headed by the President, herself, Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado; members of the Board of Regents, Mr. Loreto Pacay, representative of the Private Sectors and Dr. Verdict Gonzales, representative of the faculty association; members of the university RDE team headed by Vice President for RDE, Dr. Junel Guzman; university Directors; Campus Executive Officers of the nine campuses; project leaders from the different campuses; research and extension coordinators and project beneficiaries.
As stressed out by Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., the CEO of the Gonzaga campus in his opening words, the activity is a new chapter in the university that was unveiled. The approval and implementation of the different RDE projects in the university is a journey that will not only shape the future of the university but also has the potential to impact communities far beyond the university’s immediate reach, shared by Dr. Pacris.
Making her final sharing in the campus as the University President of CSU, Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado mentioned that research, development and extension are in the forefronts of her administration. She envisioned each campus to have their own niche that shall identify them from others.
This is indeed a legacy of the president, for at present, each campus of CSU is known in the region with their respective niches.
Furthermore, the President lauded the RDE office, and the collaboration of the different project proponents, researchers and experts from the different campuses in making these projects viable. Indeed, the spirit of camaraderie and togetherness is evident and RDE initiatives are productively participated by members of the CSU community.
The activity concluded with the expression of commitment by the Campus Executive Officers
in the fulfillment and realization of the RDE programs and projects.
