In a significant move to expand campus-based services and to foster deeper community engagement, Cagayan State University – Gonzaga Campus officially launched its Tangkiran Mart on May 14, 2025. The initiative aims not only to serve the needs of students and employees, but also to extend essential goods and services to the surrounding local community, strengthening the campus’s role as an institution for both academic and socioeconomic development.

The Blessing and Launching Ceremony was led by Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., Campus Executive Officer, and was honored by the presence of Dr. Engr. Arthur G. Ibanez, Officer-In-Charge of Cagayan State University. Members of the University Executive and Management Committees, along with campus officials and employees, were also in attendance to celebrate this milestone event.

Strategically located in front of the campus, the Tangkiran Mart operates as a one-stop-shop offering a wide selection of daily essentials and other necessities promoting efficiency, convenience, and greater access to goods for both the campus population and the broader Gonzaga community.

In an interview, Dr. Pacris underscored the project’s alignment with the campus’s mission to provide inclusive services. “Tangkiran Mart is a practical solution that reflects our commitment not just to education but to community building. By opening our doors to the public, we contribute directly to the welfare of our neighbors while supporting the needs of our students and staff,” he stated.

The store will be managed by the Campus Business and Resource Mobilization Office, which has outlined plans to feature campus-produced goods alongside commercial products.

Another significant events held on the same day was the ribbon-cutting of the newly-constructed Bamboo Café restroom aimed at improving campus amenities and comfort for all its clients, and the presentation of niche-based researches of the campus.

Following these inaugurations, campus and university leaders proceeded to attend the Executive and Management Committee Meeting held at the Bambusa Espinosa Conference Hall.
