The Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) Region 02 Chapter announced the top 10 passers in Region 02 for the February 2025 Licensure Examination for Criminologists. Among them is Karl Ezekiel Lagundino, a proud graduate of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), CSU-Gonzaga, Batch 2024, who secured 8th place in the region with an average score of 89.40%.
A native of Sta. Teresita, Cagayan, Lagundino shared that he only prayed to pass the exam and never expected to become a regional top-notcher. He expressed immense pride in bringing honor to his alma mater and department, saying, “The simple student who entered CSU-Gonzaga armed only with dreams is now a registered Criminologist and regional top-notcher.”
Reflecting on his board exam preparation, Lagundino highlighted the importance of faith, discipline, and focus. “My strategy was to always pray before opening my review materials or laptop. I stayed away from social media and other distractions to make sure each day contributed to my learning,” he said. He credited his strong academic foundation at CSU-Gonzaga, his professors and to the Campus Executive Officer of the campus including his additional preparation at ARC Review Center as instrumental in his success.
Aside from his academic achievements, Lagundino served as Governor of CCJE during the academic year 2023–2024. Under his leadership, the department reclaimed the overall championship title in the 2023 Campus Intramurals after years of pursuit. For his exemplary service and leadership, he was awarded Most Outstanding Student Leader.
Lagundino will be formally recognized during the Regional Oath-Taking Ceremony on May 3, 2025, in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
