CSU-Gonzaga excels at 44th University In-House Review, secures 3rd Best Paper in Experimental and Extension

Cagayan State University-Gonzaga achieved notable success at the 44th University In-House Review held on October 22, 2024, at the Claude Andrews Convention Center, Tuguegarao City.

The event, with the theme “Innovating for Sustainable Futures through Impactful Research, Development, and Extension to Accelerate SDG Solutions,” brought together researchers from various CSU campuses to showcase their work in Experimental, Technological, Social, and Development/Extension research.

CSU-Gonzaga's Extension research entitled “CSU Gonzaga Niched Research Development and Extension (RDE) Bamboo-based Agroforestry,” was awarded 3rd Best Extension Research. The team was composed of Dr. Froilan A. Pacris Jr., Dr. Ana Marie Cristina Cauilan, Dr. Romar Banadero, Ms. Mylene R. Ermitanio, Dr. Jay Omotoy, Ms. Myraly L. Marcos, Dr. Jayrome S. Butay, Ms. Jona L. Asuncion, Mr. Marvin Baloloy, Ms. Shiena Marie Gaño, and Ms. Sharina Mae Q. Fidel.

Additionally, the Experimental research titled, “Effect of Integrated Rice Duck Farming on the Growth, Management, and Yield of Rice and Duck,” led by Dr. Vincent Jim P. Palor, also secured 3rd place in its category.

Several other innovative projects from CSU-Gonzaga were showcased, including:
* Revving up the Road to Tricyclepreneurship, which analyzed the entrepreneurial competencies of tricycle drivers in Gonzaga for potential business model development, by Mr. Bert O. Bermudez, Dr. Charisma S. Vivit and Ms. Jamaica Mae R. Figueras.
*Participation of Informal Creditors to the Finance Generation Among Market Players in Gonzaga Cagayan, presented by Dr. Jay Omotoy.
* Collection, Identification, Propagation, and Establishment of Bambusetum at CSU-Gonzaga, led by Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., Dr. Romar R. Banadero, Dr. Ervin T. Leonador, Ms. Mylene R. Ermitanio, and Ms. Jean S. Torres.
* Increasing Availability of Swine Quality Stock through Distribution and Upgrading of Swine Multiplier Farm in Cagayan, led by Dr. Vincent Jim P. Palor.

The awards, which included a cash prize and certificates, underscore CSU-Gonzaga's commitment to impactful research that contributes to Sustainable Development Goals.
