In a bid to enhance the efficiency and proper management of campus services, the Cagayan State University-Gonzaga conducted an ARTA Orientation and Workshop on March 11, attended by deans and heads of offices. The event aimed to familiarize participants with the provisions of Republic Act 9485, also known as the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) and the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
The orientation emphasized the importance of streamlining government transactions to reduce delays, ensuring transparency, and promoting accountability in public service. As key administrators of the campus, the participants gained essential knowledge on ARTA’s mandates, enabling them to implement more effective, responsive, and citizen-friendly processes within their respective offices.
One of the highlights of the event was a workshop where frontline offices reviewed and updated their respective Citizen’s Charters. These charters outline the services provided by each office, the step-by-step procedures, requirements, and processing times to ensure smooth and standardized operations. Ms. Joyce Aminel Espedido, the ARTA focal person, emphasized that the updated charters will be consolidated to create a comprehensive Campus Citizen’s Charter Handbook, serving as a guide for all university stakeholders.
Understanding and implementing ARTA provisions play a crucial role in enhancing campus operations. By reducing administrative inefficiencies, the university aims to provide faster, more transparent, and more accessible services to students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Moreover, the initiative reinforces the university’s commitment to good governance and quality service delivery, ultimately nurturing a more conducive learning and working environment.
