Organized by PhilHealth, the mobile clinic introduced its renewed primary care program—now called YAKAP, stands for Yaman ng Kalusugan Program, or Wealth of Health Program, to orient students and employees its benefits and accessibility, held at CSU Gymnasium on August 18, 2025.
PhilHealth staffs discussed what YAKAP means, how it helps students, and their families reduce costs and avoid serious illness.
PhilHealth representatives also explained that YAKAP brings useful support to Indigents, 4 P’s, Senior Citizen, Persons with Disability, all Filipinos aged 21 and above with no capacity to pay and point of service.
Patients once registered, are advised to proceed to their usual Konsulta clinics, now rebranded as YAKAP providers. YAKAP beneficiaries under the program will enjoy primary and outpatient care initiatives of PhilHealth, including medicines, checkups, basic laboratory tests, and screenings for cancers like breast and liver, plus expanded medicine coverage.
The caravan of PhilHealth later, urged the students to register to ensure access with the health benefits.
The YAKAP program is PhilHealth’s expanded version of the former Konsulta (Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama), aimed to provide and ensure equitable benefits and access to affordable healthcare services and goods for all Filipinos and aid financial risk, under the Republic Act 11223 or Universal Healthcare Act.
The PhilHealth YAKAP Caravan at CSU-Gonzaga was more than just a lecture and registration. It showed how healthcare can feel personal, right where people are. By bringing expanded benefits and opportunities straight to students, registering them on the spot, and speaking to the heart of the community, YAKAP aims to bridge gaps, not just in distance, but in care, trust, and shared responsibility.
