Continuing the initiative of the OIC President Arthur G. Ibañez on 5,000 Trees Project, the National Service Training Program (NSTP) students and Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) officers and cadets, together with NSTP instructors of the different colleges, ROTC coordinator and Deans, planted a total of 806 coconut seedlings on October 4, 2024.

This initiative not only contributes to the university’s environmental sustainability goals but also supports the region's greening efforts, reinforcing CSU-Gonzaga’s commitment to ecological conservation.

The tree-planting event is part of the ongoing efforts to meet the target of 5,000 trees under Dr. Ibañez's leadership, underscoring the importance of environmental stewardship in CSU’s mission to create a greener, more sustainable campus.

This movement in the campus started in 2023 wherein the six colleges likewise conducted tree planting activities in the campus in support to the project of the OIC President.
