𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | Tangkiran Wellness Program launches; CSU-G conducts fora on SOGIESC, leave credits

In accordance with CSC MC 04, s. 2020, the Wellness Core Team launched the Tangkiran Wellness Program on July 17, 2024, at the CSU-Gonzaga campus gymnasium.

Launching the program, CSU-G employees took part in the zumba dance exercise, which is the first wellness activity of the program.
The program was said to "cultivate physical, mental, and environmental health" in order to promote a healthy workforce and a conducive workplace, and it will be conducted weekly.

In addition to the launching of the Tangkiran Wellness Program, separate forums on SOGIESC and leave credits were conducted.
In the SOGIESC seminar, Dr. Wendy Joy M. Garma, a GAD advocate and a faculty member of the College of Teacher Education, talked on the importance of being gender sensitive and gender responsive in the evolving world.

Dr. Garma also discussed the basics of SOGIESC—sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics—which centered on defining and differentiating genders, emphasizing that gender is a "personal decision."

The forum also tackled the legal aspect of the principles of SOGIESC, concluding that the decision-making body must also be gender responsive.

Ms. Joyce Aminel Espedido, Human Resources Management Officer II, touched on the topic of leave credits and benefits, which were actively participated by the employees.

Ms. Espedido covered the different types of leave and how an employee can use their leave credits.

Also discussed in the forum were the monetization of leave credits and the nature of sabbatical leave. The specifics of leave and service credits were also clarified.

The active participation of the employees in the activities today showed their commitment to building, maintaining, and improving a safe, healthy, and conducive working environment for all.

The Wellness Core Team members are Prof. Rizzalou Garma, Ms. Mary May Baclig, Ms. Joyce Aminel Espedido, Mr. Jun Clifford Mape, Dr. Evelyn Saribay, Prof. Jerome Karl Sabug, Ms. Jean Torres, Prof. Florina Gonzalez, Mr. Emilio Calica, and Dr. Verdict Gonzalez. #
