Cagayan State University–Gonzaga Campus officially welcomed approximately 2,400 freshmen, returning students, and transferees during Panagsarabo 2026, the campus-wide opening of classes for Academic Year 2026–2027 held on June 22 at the Campus Grounds.

The opening program began with a grand walk, flag-raising ceremony, and formal welcome program spearheaded by the Campus Student Council under the leadership of President Carlene Joy Odasco. The event marked the beginning of a new academic journey for students and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to academic excellence and character formation.

During the ceremony, Campus Executive Officer Dr. Froilan A. Pacris Jr. extended his warm welcome to students, faculty members, and personnel, expressing gratitude for their active participation and continued support of the university. In his message, he emphasized the importance of discipline as a fundamental value that every member of the CSU community must practice daily.

Dr. Pacris described the opening of classes as more than the start of a new academic year. He said it signifies a new beginning for everyone in the university. For freshmen and transferees, it marks the first chapter of their CSU journey, while for continuing students, it is an opportunity to create a better and more meaningful chapter than the previous year. For faculty and staff, it serves as a renewed commitment to teaching, guiding, and serving with dedication.

Addressing the students, the CEO officially welcomed them into the Cagayan State University family and encouraged them to wear their IDs and uniforms with pride, honor, and responsibility. He urged them to uphold the university’s core values of competence, social responsibility, and a unifying presence, allowing these principles to guide their decisions both on and off campus. He also stressed the importance of discipline in words, actions, and conduct.

The CEO likewise reminded students that earning a CSU degree requires perseverance, hard work, and adherence to institutional standards. Dr. Pacris underscored that CSU-Gonzaga remains committed to maintaining academic excellence and established protocols for students, faculty, and staff.

“We do not lower the bar so that students can pass. We lift the bar so that students can reach the bar. That is how we protect a CSU,” he emphasized.

Dr. Pacris also called on faculty members to continue molding students into competent, skilled, disciplined, and God-fearing individuals. He encouraged faculty and staff to remain steadfast in providing genuine service and commitment, noting that their dedication leaves a lasting impact on students' lives.

Concluding his message, the CEO challenged the entire CSU-Gonzaga community to pursue excellence throughout the academic year.
“Excellence is not an act; it is a habit. With discipline in our hands, service in our hearts, and CSU pride in our spirit, let us make this academic year the best year yet for CSU-Gonzaga,” he said.
