Joining the celebration of the World Bamboo Day and Philippine Bamboo Month through a House Resolution 1908, the Campus Extension office in collaboration with the Campus Alumni Relations and Placement Services and the Campus Student Council conducted a tree planting activity today, September 19, 2022, at the Campus Bambusetum site.
Strengthening volunteerism and environmental stewardship, Alumni members from each college likewise participated in the tree planting.
According to the Extension coordinator, Dr. Romar Banadero, the celebration aims to raise awareness on the potential of Bamboo in terms of protecting natural resources and the environment, ensuring sustainable utilization, promoting new Bamboo cultivation for new industries in the regions around the world, and promoting its traditional uses for community development.
On the other hand, Dr. Charisma S. Vivit, the ARPS designate, expressed her gratitude to the Alumni members for their active participation to this event. To sustain the programs of the ARPS, Dr. Vivit urged the Alumni to always support and to get involved in all the undertakings of CSU.
