CSU-Gonzaga pays tribute to Ma’am Florina for 43 years of selfless service

Cagayan State University-Gonzaga family honored Ms. Florina P. Gonzales in a heartfelt retirement program on March 10, 2025, recognizing her 43 years of dedicated service to the institution. The celebration also marked her 38-year tenure as the coordinator of the Student Welfare and Development Office, a role in which she has profoundly impacted countless students and faculty members.

The event was festive and cheerful, filled with expressions of gratitude, well-wishes, and fond recollections. Attended by her family members, university officials, and the entire CSU-Gonzaga community, the tribute was a testament to Ms. Gonzales' invaluable contributions. Leading the ceremony was her Gonzaga Tangkiran family, headed by Campus Executive Officer Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., alongside deans, faculty members, personnel and students.

The gathering was further graced by esteemed university leaders who came to honor Ms. Gonzales. CSU Officer-in-Charge President Dr. Arthur G. Ibanez was present, accompanied by former CSU President and now University Consultant Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado, a close friend of the honoree. Also in attendance were the Vice Presidents Dr. Mariden Cauilan, Dr. Theresa Dimalanta, Dr. Ana Marie Cauilan, and Dr. Junel Guzman; University Faculty Association President Dr. Ricardo Casaoay; university directors; staff; alumni and friends, all united to celebrate her remarkable legacy.

Throughout the program, the hall echoed with laughter and tears as colleagues and students shared stories of Ms. Gonzales' unwavering commitment, kindness, and mentorship. Her decades of service were marked by her genuine concern for students' welfare and her tireless efforts to create a supportive and nurturing environment within the university.

As CSU-Gonzaga bids farewell to one of its most beloved and a pillar of the campus, Ms. Gonzales leaves behind a legacy of compassion, leadership, and dedication. Though she may be retiring, her influence and contributions to the institution will forever be remembered and cherished. The CSU-Gonzaga community extends its deepest gratitude and best wishes to Ma’am Florina as she embarks on a well-earned retirement.
