Researchers from Cagayan State University-Gonzaga were recognized with the Best Paper Award during the virtual ATU-NET International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Computing, Engineering, and Science Education (ATU-NET InvENT) 2025, held on July 23–24, 2025.

The international conference was jointly organized by the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines and Universitas Brawijaya of Indonesia, bringing together researchers, academic professionals, industry experts, policy makers, NGOs, and representatives from ATU-Net member institutions around the globe.

The award-winning paper, titled "Design and Architecture of an IoT-Enabled Bamboo Resource Management System: Data-Driven Approach for Sustainable Agriculture," is the first phase of a larger research project entitled "Bamboo in the Era of Intelligence: A Bamboo Resource Management System (BRMS) Powered by IoT, GPS, and Advanced Data Analytics."

Authored by Dr. Charlot L. Maramag, Dr. Dorothy M. Ayuyang, and Dr. Richard R. Ayuyang, the study contributes significantly to sustainable agriculture development and the advancement of smart agriculture technologies, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

The recognition highlights the relevance and potential impact of their research in optimizing bamboo resource management using modern technological tools such as Internet of Things (IoT), GPS, and data analytics — technologies crucial for transforming traditional agriculture into a more efficient and sustainable system.
