The College of Hospitality Management of Cagayan State University – Gonzaga emerged victorious at the AMPAYAG 2025: 3rd International Hospitality and Tourism Research Conference and Skills Convergence, held on May 22–23, 2025, at the University of Northern Philippines, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

The event was spearheaded by Northwestern University in collaboration with the University of Northern Philippines, United Tourism and Hospitality Professionals, and the International Journal on Hospitality and Tourism Research. AMPAYAG 2025 brought together institutions from across the country for research presentations and skills competitions aimed at strengthening the future of the tourism and hospitality industry.

Among the highlights was the skills competition, where CSU-Gonzaga CHM delegates showcased excellence:
• Champion in Tour Guiding: Irish Joy Montezon
• 1st Runner-Up in Quiz Bee: Irish Joy Montezon, Jhon Mike Argel, and Christopher Javier

Despite the challenges in preparation due to overlapping academic and co-curricular activities, CSU-Gonzaga CHM's performance stood out.
Dr. Jeffrey Obedoza, Dean of the College of Hospitality Management, shared his thoughts on the achievement:

“The activities of the college came all at once, which made the preparation very difficult. But through the resilience of our students and the unwavering support from our CEO and dedicated faculty members, we managed to come out victorious. I am proud of what our team has accomplished and even more proud of the spirit they carried with them throughout the competition.”
