Cagayan State University Gonzaga Campus Takes Bold First Step Towards Securing Land Titles

Gonzaga, Cagayan – April 2025

In a bold move aimed at securing its future, Cagayan State University- Gonzaga Campus has initiated a comprehensive Relocation and Verification Survey under the guidance of the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Office. This initiative, led by Dr. Froilan Pacris, Campus Executive Officer, represents the first concerted effort to secure the land titles of the campus, a critical step towards optimizing land utilization for the benefit of all stakeholders.
The Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership, and Resource Mobilization, Dr. Ana Marie Cristina C. Cauilan, sees this initiative as an opportunity to pave the way for potential partnerships and collaborations that can elevate the university’s mandates in instruction, research, extension and production.

Dr. Pacris emphasized the significance of this initiative, noting that it is a necessary step to clarify land ownership and boundaries, thus safeguarding the university’s future growth and sustainability. He acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead but affirmed that this survey is just the beginning, with plans to submit additional land areas for verification in the coming months.

In her closing remarks during the Land Assessment and Survey Initiative gathering, Dr. Cauilan expressed her appreciation for the collective efforts of all involved. She also extended her sincere gratitude to OIC Arthur G. Ibanez and CEO Froilan Pacris, whose visionary leadership has been instrumental in bringing the initiative to fruition.

The gathering also recognized the contributions of Engr. Felisa Andres from the Land Survey and Mapping Division of the PENRO Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Atty. Meg Salamat, the University Legal Officer, and other members of the university legal team for ensuring that the land assessment aligns with existing laws and regulations.

As CSU Gonzaga moves forward with this land verification and resource mobilization endeavor, the university community and stakeholders remain optimistic about the future. With a clear vision and a commitment to maximizing land utilization, CSU Gonzaga is poised to become a leader of educational excellence and community development.
