CSU–Gonzaga proudly celebrates the achievement of Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., Campus Executive Officer, and Ms. Myraly L. Marcos, Campus Extension Coordinator, whose collaborative research was awarded Best Paper in the Transforming TVET Curricula category during the 2025 International Conference on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) held on October 30–31 at the Claude Andrews Convention Center.

Their paper, titled “Empowering Individuals as Agripreneurs: Fostering Lifelong Learning through Agricultural Entrepreneurial Skills Development,” underscores CSU-Gonzaga’s strong commitment in promoting agricultural entrepreneurship and community-based lifelong learning through its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.

The study highlights CSU-Gonzaga’s remarkable impact on the community by training more than 1,400 individuals, establishing 14 learning sites and 13 assessment centers, and creating income-generating projects, including the Bamboo Café and farm schools. Through its TVET initiatives, the campus has not only strengthened employment opportunities, achieving an 88% job placement rate, but also contributed to local economic growth, posting a 200% increase in income-generating projects, clear indicators of the program’s success and sustainability.

“The conference has been an open door in sharing what we have been working with TVET—our program that has become a stronghold of skills development and capacity building, benefiting many individuals,” Ms. Marcos shared. “I appreciate the support and generosity of our CEO, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., for allowing us to attend such a meaningful conference. Above all, praise the Lord for the wisdom and knowledge!”

The two-day international event, themed “Global Landscape: Aligning TVET and Industry for Sustainable Development,” gathered delegates from 14 countries and 44 institutions across the Philippines.

Also present during the event were other faculty members and staff actively involved in the operation of the CSU-Gonzaga TVET Office, led by Dr. Pacris and Dr. Vincent Palor, Campus TVET Coordinator.
