Cagayan State University Gonzaga recognized the unsung heroes of its institution on May 16, 2025, during the celebration of National Education Support Personnel Day, where CEO Dr. Froilan A. Pacris Jr., delivered a heartfelt tribute to the backbone of the campus’s operations.
Held at the MABRIC Conference Hall, the event honored regular and Contract of Service (COS) administrative staff — both office-based and field personnel — through a full-day program of wellness, learning, and camaraderie. The festivities included a Zumba session, team-building activities, a stress management seminar led by Dr. Jay Omotoy, and a boodle fight lunch that brought everyone together in fellowship.
In his inspirational message, Dr. Pacris emphasized the immeasurable value of the support personnel, stating, “I am part of the admin. We work together behind the scenes. You are highly valued in this administration. You know how I treat everyone in the campus — equal. Thank you for your unwavering support. Even if I will no longer be in CSU, you will always be part of my life.”
He commended their hard work in managing finances, processing paperwork, and carrying out critical field operations that keep the campus running smoothly. “Today, we honor your hard work, accomplishments, and contributions,” he said, encouraging everyone’s active participation in the celebration.
The event also highlighted the rationale behind this recognition — a reminder that CSU’s strength and success are deeply rooted in the dedication of its support staff. These individuals ensure that facilities are maintained, services are delivered, and the learning environment remains supportive and safe. Their often-unseen efforts form the very fabric that enables the university’s academic mission to flourish.
Mrs. Sheryl Comillas, President of the Administrative Personnel Association, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are so grateful for events like this — it’s a wonderful day to celebrate our team and our efforts to make our goals realized.” She also stressed the importance of enhancing personnel interaction and fostering a culture where staff feel empowered to share ideas and receive recognition for their contributions.
With the strengthened administrative personnel headed by Mrs. Sheryl Comillas, the team shall continue to extend quality and excellent services to its clients. Under her leadership, the association aims to foster a work culture that promotes open communication, mutual respect, and continuous professional development.
