n observance of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the Commission on Human Rights Region 2 (CHR R2), in partnership with Cagayan State University–Gonzaga Campus, conducted a Human Rights 101 and Anti-Trafficking Lecture on July 23, 2026, at MABRIC Hall, Cagayan State University–Gonzaga Campus, Gonzaga, Cagayan, under Project C.A.R.E. (Champion Child Protection, Act Against Human Trafficking, Respect Human Rights, Embrace Equality and Inclusion).
The lecture was led by RD Atty. Cecilia G. Melad-Lazaro, who discussed the Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and the Anti-OSAEC and Anti-CSAEM Act (Republic Act No. 11930). Atty. Marie Grace R. Marcos, Attorney IV and GAD Focal Person, discussed the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (Republic Act No. 9344) while
Human Rights 101 and Anti-Trafficking session was delivered by Lorraine C. Daquioag, JD, Information Officer II and GAD Co-Focal, who discussed the fundamental principles of human rights, the different forms of human trafficking, and the importance of preventing exploitation through awareness and collective action.
Through Project C.A.R.E., CHR R2 continues to promote human rights awareness and strengthen advocacy efforts to protect children, combat human trafficking, and uphold the rights and dignity of every individual.
