The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) unit of CSU-Lallo, along with cadets from Gonzaga and Lasam campuses, underwent a comprehensive inspection during the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) held on May 20, 2025, with the inspection team headed by Col. Jesus C. Pagala, MNSA, GSMO, 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.
The annual RAATI event, hosted this year by Cagayan State University-Gonzaga, tested the discipline, preparedness, and organizational capability of the ROTC unit composed of the Gonzaga, Lallo, and Lasam campuses. The 166 male and 96 female cadets and cadettes were subjected to a two-part evaluation—general administration and field testing—that covered a range of military and leadership competencies.
Under general administration, the inspection focused on administrative preparedness and the evaluation of command and staff operations. The field-testing segment included ceremonial parade, inspection in ranks, close order drill, military stakes, and a comprehensive written examination. The combined unit earned a total score of 800 points across all evaluation areas, reflecting the cadets’ diligence and the commitment of their officers and coordinators.
Col. Pagala and his team commended the performance and discipline of the cadets, recognizing their readiness and potential as future leaders.
In separate messages, the campus executives praised the cadets for their effort and determination. Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., CEO of CSU-Gonzaga, lauded the cadets' dedication to the ROTC’s core values. “These values—integrity, leadership, and excellence—are not just words but guiding principles that prepare you for roles in nation-building,” he remarked.
Dr. Policarpio Mabborang, Jr., CEO of CSU-Lallo, commended the students' resilience and urged them to inspire others to join the program. “Your training will go a long way in shaping you as leaders of this country,” he said.
Dr. Florante Victor Balatico, CEO of CSU-Lasam, acknowledged the sacrifices made by both the cadets and their families. “This is a rare opportunity—embrace it, and never waste the lessons it brings,” he encouraged.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Emily Garcia, CSU-Gonzaga’s NSTP/ROTC coordinator, extended heartfelt thanks to the RAATI team, campus executives, commandants, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office, the Municipal Health Office, the Gonzaga Police Station and organizing committee members for ensuring the event’s success.
This year’s ROTC Corps is led by Corps Commander LTC Althea Gwen Alariao, a 3rd-year Criminology student of CSU-Gonzaga, along with an all-female staff—a witness to the Corps’ commitment to inclusivity and empowerment of women in leadership.
