The Academic Council of Cagayan State University–Gonzaga convened on April 29 at the MABRIC Conference Hall to deliberate on key academic and institutional matters, including the approval of candidates for graduation, endorsement of a feasibility study for a possible offering of a new academic program, and Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) initiatives.

During the meeting, the Council approved 536 candidates for graduation for the Academic Year 2025-2026 across various academic programs. The breakdown is as follows: College of Agriculture (CA) – 89; College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy (CBEA) – 90; College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) – 84; College of Hospitality Management (CHM) – 124; College of Computing and Information Sciences (CICS) – 93; and College of Teacher Education (CTE) – 46.
This approval marks a significant milestone for the candidates who have successfully completed all academic requirements of their respective programs. The confirmation of degrees and conferment of titles will take place on May 12 at the campus grounds.

In addition to the graduation agenda, the Council endorsed conducting a feasibility study on the possible offering of a Master of Science in Agriculture at the campus. The study aims to assess the campus’s strengths in facilities and faculty, and to identify areas for improvement in compliance with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order (CMO) requirements. The initiative also seeks to address emerging educational needs and align academic offerings with current industry demands.

Moreover, several Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) initiatives were endorsed. These initiatives are geared toward the optimal utilization of MABRIC facilities for student development and community extension. The Council also discussed a 5-in-1 activity that the campus will host on May 13.
Furthermore, queries and clarifications regarding the agenda were addressed during an open discussion among Council members.

All agenda items were endorsed by the body to the University Academic Council for further approval by the CSU Board of Regents.
