The Office of the Campus Human Resource Management, headed by Ms. Joyce Aminel Espedido, conducted an Employee Orientation and Reorientation Program for the regular and part-time faculty members and regular administrative personnel of Cagayan State University–Gonzaga on July 17 at the MABRIC hall.
Opening the program, Ms. Espedido underscored the importance of the orientation in reminding employees of their mandates as government workers and ensuring that everyone remains aligned with the University's vision, mission, and core values. She emphasized that the activity serves as a venue to revisit existing policies, promote accountability, and cultivate a culture of professionalism and excellence in the workplace.
Campus Executive Officer Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr. likewise delivered an inspiring message, highlighting the vital role of every employee as a public servant entrusted with delivering quality service to the University's stakeholders. He encouraged the participants to uphold integrity, commitment, and teamwork while continuously embracing the best practices that have contributed to CSU-Gonzaga's achievements. At the same time, he challenged the employees to address areas that require improvement in pursuit of greater institutional excellence.
The program featured informative discussions from campus officials on key topics relevant to public service and organizational efficiency. Ms. Mary May Baclig, Campus Chief of Staff, discussed the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
Meanwhile, Dr. Verdict Gonzales, Campus Management Information Systems (MIS) Coordinator, delivered a lecture on Cybersecurity, focusing on data protection, responsible use of office equipment and work devices, cybersecurity threats, and practical dos and don'ts in handling institutional information. He also emphasized the importance of complying with data privacy principles to safeguard both university records and personal information.
The orientation concluded with an interactive open forum, where participants actively engaged in the discussions by raising questions, sharing insights, and clarifying concerns.
