The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) programs of Cagayan State University–Gonzaga have officially earned their Level III Re-Accredited Status from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), following the announcement from the Office of the University President of Cagayan State University.
The recognition came after CSU-Gonzaga underwent the Level III AACCUP Accreditation 3rd Survey Visit, conducted from September 24 to 26, 2025 during which academic offerings were evaluated against quality standards in instruction, research, extension, linkages, and support system.
In an interview, Dr. Shiena Marie Gano, Dean of the College of Hospitality Management, expressed her profound gratitude and pride for the college’s achievement.
“It is with profound gratitude and immense pride that I extend my sincerest thanks to all who contributed to our successful CHM Level III AACCUP accreditation most especially my dedicated taskforce team, our exemplary students and alumni, the visionary administration, my esteemed colleagues across campus, our partner institutions Quirino State University and Nueva Vizcaya State University, and the entire College of Hospitality Management family,” she shared.
Dr. Gano highlighted that, despite a constrained preparation timeline, the program successfully achieved Level III status on its first attempt, an accomplishment she described as a milestone made possible by unity, perseverance, and shared purpose.
Meanwhile, Dr. Clyden Charl Alibania, Dean of the College of Information and Computing Sciences, emphasized that the accreditation reflects the CSU-Gonzaga community's commitment to academic excellence.
“With immense pride and gratitude, we celebrate the successful attainment of AACCUP Level III Accreditation. This milestone reflects the dedication, teamwork, and unwavering commitment of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders to excellence in instruction, research, and extension,” he stated.
He also extended appreciation to the administration, led by the OIC President, Dr. Arthur G. Ibanez, and the Campus Executive Officer of CSU-Gonzaga, Dr. Froilan A. Pacris Jr., for their visionary leadership and full support throughout the accreditation process.
The administration shared that the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BSAIS) program is set to follow after completing compliance with additional accreditation requirements. Moreover, other academic programs of the campus are likewise scheduled to undergo Level III accreditation within the year, as CSU-Gonzaga continues to strengthen its commitment to quality assurance, academic excellence, and institutional advancement.
