Cagayan State University–Gonzaga conducted its Campus Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) In-House Review on March 18 at the Administration Building Conference Hall, featuring faculty research presentations across applied/experimental, technological, and social categories.
The activity opened with a welcome message from Dr. Froilan A. Pacris, Jr., who encouraged faculty members to actively participate in research endeavors and contribute to the university’s growing body of knowledge.
Also delivering a message was Engr. Audy R. Quebral, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, commended the conduct of in-house reviews and emphasized their role in strengthening research quality and academic excellence.
Prior to the formal proceedings, a tribute was given to Dr. Josie Y. Bas-Ong, marking her final participation in the campus in-house review as she prepares for retirement. The recognition highlighted her significant contributions to extension services and community engagement initiatives.
The evaluation of research entries was carried out by designated panel members for each category. For the Applied/Experimental Category, the panelists included Engr. Audy R. Quebral and Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao.
For the Social Category, the panel was composed of Engr. Anderson G. Gonzales and Dr. Gilbert C. Magulod Jr., who assessed studies focusing on social development and community impact.
Meanwhile, the Extension Category was evaluated by Dr. Josie Y. Bas-Ong and Dr. Charmie S. Calvo, highlighting projects geared toward outreach and public service.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Anderson G. Gonzales encouraged participants to embrace evaluators’ feedback as constructive criticism. He emphasized the importance of aligning research outputs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the university's strategic priorities.
The Campus In-House Review continues to serve as a vital platform for faculty development, promoting innovation, collaboration, and excellence in research within CSU-Gonzaga.
